Got this text message about vehicle I have for sale on CL. Not to sure about it and wanted yalls opinions.

(1/3)Thanks for the response, i agreed with the condition, i will give you $3000 to keep any other offers off, if my offer is accepted by you i will like you to (2/3)get back to me now with your Pay Pal email address and your full NAME so as to make the payment right, as i am currently offshore RIG on a ship, so i will (3/3)not be able to come and pick it but my agent will do so on my behalf, also i will like you to send me your home address and so that we can arrange for pick up.

I wouldn't mess with it. If I have a friend that is going to pick something up, I wouldn't call them my agent, and if I had an agent that was going to do it, I would have them get in contact directly.

That means it's time to fuck with them. Email them back and try to get all their information, first born, wife's dimensions etc.

I replied telling them to call me and of course they couldnt. When they finally replied they said

can only text cos am not suppose to have my mobile with me,so send me the info i requested for so i can proceed with the payment.

I replied with
No thanks till you can talk or can look at in person. They have yet to reply to that.

Same is happening to me trying to sell my hardtop. I've gotten about 7 different emails that want my address and ask me to take the "item" off because there sending me a check fedex.

Im losing faith in CL

Sent from a carrier pigeon.

For what it's worth, I found I get a lot less spam from CL if I post my contact info as a picture and have them "hide" instead of "anonymize" my email address.

Scam.
Tell them the battery exploded and ate the paint off the fender, but it will still run if they put in a new battery. You'll know it's a scam when they still want to buy it.
