This inspection is the scenario I always tell folks to be careful of when they 'restore' vehicles and parts swap between vehicles or buy a 'restored'/classic vehicle. Most states recognize a 'permanent' VIN location (whether the DMV is competent enough to know where that is on any given vehicle is a different discussion) and for the title to match that, it's usually during this inspection someone might find out they have a very expensive parts car or part of a stolen car, etc etc. If that's not a worry, this process is as simple as confirming the car is as described. Specifically in the Ford world, I know guys that have dropped $30k on a vehicle, didn't check the frame VIN, didn't match the title and they got one big ol, expensive lawn ornament. Most bruncledaddies refuse to believe that as factual since they're third generation hacking 5 trucks together to make one and never had an issue, but I have guys weekly in my groups saying they got screwed.
