I Can not work on the Jeep without changing some color some where.... this time I will be changing the skid from a purple blue to (I hope) brushed metal with a clear coat over top of it.
Do you think after I sand/grind/brush the metal skid to my liking, wash off the excess dirt, maybe even chemical clean this thing, then clear coat it a few times, then throw Pam on it (or rain ex to help keep the mud from sticking) it will hold up? my blue paint job help up OK, it had scratches all over it.. and the paint was gone where it slid on a rock....but it seemed fine.
IF so, what type of base paint should I use? have acrylic clear, upside down marking clear, and top coat clear ... I think the last clears are water base...
Thanks
