Clocking a NP208

I'm swapping in a 208 in place of the 229. I know it won't sit flush, so maybe I could use this one day along the line? The 208 will be bolted up behind a TC727 in my '90 GW. What other mods will have to be done if/once this clocking ring is installed.

*I honestly don't see/understand how this clocking ring works

Fits just find, just need a new or "modified" cross member

got the 208 in this afternoon...doesn't look like I'm gonna need to clock it...but yeah Sam, I'll be looking to fab up some sort of skid plate for it

Did you use the 208 shifter or keep the old 229 shifter?

I am using the 208 flag shifter...not too sure if a 229 shifter would work with the different (additional) shift pattern.
