My Samsung dryer stopped heating. This happened once before while it was still covered under extended warranty.

Not going to fix it again.

Headed to get a new one shortly. It's a long shot, but does anyone have recommendations for a decent dryer. The last one was steam and it was nice sometimes.

We have a big dumb white one that we bought 15 years ago at Lowe's. It cost about $300. Never had a bit of trouble out of it.

It's a Roper, which is basically a Whirlpool with fewer features.

I would check the heating element first. 4 screws on the back to get to it. Looks like a bunch of coils. Look close and you'll see if there is anywhere it is burnt in two. I had to replace our heating element a couple years ago. Maybe $30 on Amazon.

I don't have the time to play appliance repair guy. Last time it happened was electronics from condensation since it vents directly outside. maybe poor design, but the repair dude last time was cool and told me unless someone else is paying for it get a new one.

I'll probably try and give old one away before is sight in my RMR on it

A little late but, check for restrictions/clogs in the dryer vent duct! Install the new one, let it run on a 10 minute timed dry empty, go outside and put your hand at the opening under the cap. An unrestricted dryer duct will have a substantial amount of air blowing out of it (think hair dryer on full blast). If not, I can walk you through a cleaning using common shop tools unless you want to rebuild the whole thing. When not enough air can be exhausted out, it will burn up a heating element prematurely. I run into this quite often at work.
