Well, after being "scolded' by JC, ive decided to go ahead and join SFWDA.

isnt there a local club i can join that gets me a SFWDA membership as well?

As PR person for CTB I welcome you in. You not only get membership into one of NC largest clubs, but also membership into Southern Four wheel Drive association, and United four wheel drive association. We have a monthly newsletter as well as scheduled monthly rides. A good group of guys to wheel with. We have stockers to all out buggy guys and gals, so you will fit in some where!

Ironically I just posted a similar thread about this. Who can give me so more info on CTB? :p Wondering about events located near Kannapolis/Charlotte. Noticed OP is from Winston Salem and Dylan from Mocksville. Those aren't too terribly far away.

Our schedule is basically rides. While we do participate in events put on by others, we generally don't host events ourselves. Different than other clubs, we have members throughout North Carolina and beyond. Our rides are at places you read about here, such as Mountain City, URE, Harlan Ky and so on. There aren't many public places to wheel in NC so we have little choice but to go out of state most of the time.

Our members are spread all over the place, like Chip said.
Our Annual event is at URE, CTB rides are in many different locations, but No events near K-town or Charlotte really.

You should check us out!

I think in the other thread JC was answering which club was nearest to Charlotte, I am sure he would reccomend CTB as well. We do have Charlotte members.

I'm in the CTB and I am in Concord, so I am relatively close to you. The closest thing CTB does is URE. The Fun Caravan we do at URE every September is a "do not miss event" for me and many others.
One thing I truly respect about CTB is I started off years ago in a stock YJ and they really took care of me. Great group of folks.
