Clutch pedal hard to push

I have a 2000 Dodge Ram 2500 5 speed with the 360 V8 gas motor. I've always thought the clutch pedal pushed really hard. Recently I drove my buddy's '97 F150 5 speed with the 4.6 gasser and the clutch is wwwway easier to push.

I assume harder to push clutch = stronger springs = can hold more hp/tq right? I could see if my truck had a v10 or diesel it would need that, but shouldn't a small block v8 have an easier to push clutch? Could I put a clutch in it that would still hold the stock power yet the pedal would be easier to push?

What's the mileage, on the truck, though that is not direct indicator, of clutch replacement. Pressure plate is the most likely source of force, although, linkage set-up, has some bearing.
Try to find a similar truck, to test drive, or just push a pedal.
