I changed out my clutch to a centerforce duel friction. every thing worked before i changed clutch and went back together fine but the petal has no resistance. i just changed the slave cylinder this morning. directions that came in the box says there is not a bleed screw. to bleed the system you have to pump the slave rod until the bubbles stop in the master cylinder. no bubbles ever came up. i pumped it about 30 times (directions says 10-15). I put the slave back in trans and still no clutch. the fluid does go up and down. Is there something else wrong? how else can i get the air out of the line? should i keep pumping the clutch?

97 tj, 4cylinder,

You can try to fill the slave before you install it on the trans. Hold the slave with the line hole at the top and slowly pour fluid in or use a small fluid pump then reinstall slave and if you can bleed it at the line.

It doesnt have a bleeder? The part Im pulling up for it shows a bleeder. Ive got a vaccuum pump you can borrow.

that is a good idea. im at work now when i get home tonight i will check if the slave is moving when i press the petal. there is a plastic tie that holds the rod in when you install the slave into the trans. it suppose to break when the petal is pushed to keep the plastic piece on the end of the rod against the throw out bearing fork. i will see if that plastic tie did break.

Matt, the vacuum is that only for when slave has a bleed screw?

you guys r never gonna believe this:

It helps if the master cylinder had fluid in it..

there is a rubber lining inside the master cylinder reservoir that holds fluid to make it look like it has fluid but it does not have any holes in it. I took the lining out and now it works perfect.
