if the pic was rotated to where the tree was growing vertical, then the incline isn't near as steep as the pic first suggests... :D

Trees dont always grow EXACTLY vertical. As in, if you were to place a level on them, the bubble wouldnt line up. They DO grow vertical though. All plants can sense gravity (gravitropism) and will always realign themselves to grow up. This will cause stem elongation and change the shape.

I think what I am saying is best defined by picture 2. Picture number 1 just looks cool :)
 
Sorry debunk the notion that all trees grow exactly perpendicular (you'd know better if you'd been wheeling in the past 4 years :lol: ), BUT... I was there and most likely took the picture. If anything, the angle (at the waterfall on Welder) is steeper than the pic shows! :flipoff2:
