coast to coast gas station coverage?

hey all, im leaving for my cross country move next week and was curious which brand has the most coverage across the country as far as gas stations go?

my route will take me from raleigh, to nashville, then to colorado springs, then north through wyoming, montana and then to washington

so....BP, Exxon, Race track....?
 
well shit head, if you must know, a friend offered to help with the move and fuel in the form of a gift card for a substantial amount...i just have to tell them which brand

is that ok?

I'd go with Exxon or BP...

With Exxon, you can hit an Exxon or Mobil, BP is BP/ all the old Amaco stations
 
Might wanna talk to some long haul truckers that frequent those areas. I would have no clue since the furtherest west I have ever been is Oak Ridge Tn, or Fort Benning Ga.

Are moving for good or ??

I was just wondering why you cared, and i guess i found out. I figured you had some stupid ass idea like you only buy gas from brand or something. But it turns out your broke and have to borrow money from a friend to move :flipoff2:
 
You could also get it for the most convienent or cheapest station that you regularly go to, since you will always use gas. That way you won't be limited to finding a particular gas station in the middle of no where.
 
Rather than a gift card why not suggest a prepaid credit card and you can use where you need to??
 
seems like i've probably noticed exxon/mobil and bp the most in my travels.

you're going to want to take what you can get across montana and wyoming. be ready to pay out the a$$ for it in some locations. i was just out there a few weeks ago, and more remote places were charging close to $4 a gallon. i came up to montana from the south through utah/idaho/wyoming.

what's the move for? you know duke (from tww) just moved out there.

that's what my mom does for me now for Christmas/birthday...

gets 'em from BB&T, but I'd guess most banks have them in some form...

another option could be Traveler's Checks?

to find a job, be close to the mountains, and to get a new perspective. plus, i figure that i should go ahead and do it now while im not completely tied to this area.

well if they are paying me to leave, they are at least kind enough to tell me that they are reimbursing me for laying almost 1200 sq ft of wood floors and another 150 sq ft of tile that ive done in the past couple weeks

i appreciate it, it should be interesting.

Flying J is the way to go as far as Colorado Springs. They will consistently be 2 /5 cents per gallon cheaper than the lower priced stations. From there just look at their web site, it will show the price of fuel nation wide. Use their trip maker and it will show all thier fuel stops along the route you choose.
I have traveled coast to coast quite a bit and find them to be fairly consistent. I don't care for their eating joints though.
 
Hey ridfast go with EXXON or BP for gas.

Well I have to tell you that on my journey to MOAB, UTAH in 2004 for the Easter Jeep Safari I saw a lot of stuckey's and BP's and a ton of Exxon's. There are gas stations everywhere except KANSAS and MS. Do not go through them at night without a full tank. Its very sketchy and there is nothing on I70 for hours. LOL!!!!! You will be missed here by your bestfriends and 4 wheeling people. But you have a lot of good things to look forward to. You can finally say goodbye to this forum and all the jerks on here who have given you crap and tried to jew you over or stood you up on buying something when they said they would. You can start a new life in a new place where no 1 will bother you. :) Let us know how the trip went. Have fun. Live life to the fullest. And its sooo much fun driving across country. Those memories will last a lifetime.:Rockon:
