College/Emergency Relief Fundraiser for Gabe's Wife & child

Fellow Racers we need your help!

At the Windrock race we will be doing a silent auction with all proceeds being donated and placed into a college and/or emergency relief fund for the a real close friends of Chris May. Gabe and Heather Gardner and unborn child. If you're a father like me you realize raising a kid in this tough world is hard enough! Being a single mother raising a kid alone is even harder and I can hardly imagine the financial burden that will be endured! Being a past High School teacher and loving children and teaching along with learn from our kids I saw a lot of kids having single parented family's. It was tougher for them usually. I can't tell you how it touched my heart then and after hearing of this accident it deeply touched my heart and I wanted to help as others do and who are helping with this endeavor.

Please join us in supporting our fellow racer Chris, Heather and the unborn child! If this turns out to be a successful endeavor maybe we can make it an on-going part of ECORS by creating a fund; for the Racers, by Racers and supporting the Racers in troubled times.

Let's use the K.I.S.S principal on this one. Yes that is Keep It Simple Stupid. ;) Here is how we would like to do this. Any help and support you can provide is appreciated!

Silent Auction Details:
- I will be bring a truck load of stuff I'm donating (see list below for examples).
- Any vendor, racing team members can donate items.
- Any race team member (driver, co-pilot, pit crew etc) can bid in the silent auction. This helps fellow racers with parts they may need.
- Donate any used, new or unwanted parts, schwag, nic nacs, hardware, stuff for tow rigs, trucks, trailers etc....Anything you think others can use. See my list below for examples.
- We are working on some bigger ticket Vendor provided items also. TBD though.
- We'll place all items on my trailer witch will be parked in the pits and throughout the racing weekend.
- Stop by I will have a cooler of Home Brew to entice you into biding and donating.
- There will be a sheet per item for making a bid.
- Bid's will start at $1 for small items (basically any bolts, washers, cotter pins and such) and $5 for any larger ticket item.
- Bidding will go on all weekend but stop by often since thing will be added as folks show up.
- Before the final awards ceremony (time TBD) we will close the auction down.
- Either before or during the awards ceremony (TBD) we will announce the winners and collect payment.

List of parts I will donate (published for examples):
- Saginaw steering box from a waggy.
- Factory cage from a 97 TJ.
- A slew of factory TJ/XJ/ZJ LCA and UCA's.
- Quick Disconnects
- Misc drive shaft parts.
- A complete hub to hub stock Jtruck LP D44
- Set of waggy 44 flat top knuckles
- Complete set of stock 78-79 F250 HP HD D44 shafts.
- 1 complete set of stock D30 shafts.
- Rusty's trackbar.
- 1 Stick of 1.75 x .120 HREW tubing.
Possibly more I'm still cleaning my garage.

I'm also throwing in a set of Spider Trax 9" housings for some buggy bling blingers! These are 3" x 1/4 wall never modified or even mocked-up. Brand new out of the box items basically. :huggy:

Not sure what all I have but I will clean out my unused parts from the garage and put a pile of stuff together. I will also get with Chris at Marsfab and see if hes got anything to throw in.

Still need everyone's help with this. It's for a good cause, supporting our family and friends. Again if it's a success we may make it an on-going ritual so we can better support our community! :cool:

I'll be bringing some fab/builder parts for a rig and some other misc items out of my garage that I have yet to clean out...

But, I know there are some good parts in there!

I will clean out my overstock shelf and bring it all! Heims, Johnny joints, axle brackets, frame link brackets, traction bar brackets, mis alignment spacers. I will also bring some new parts and some shocks.
I have enough material left from Snappy's links for a set of aluminum links.

Clarification on one of the Auction details listed above; If you are a spectator, supporter, vendor etc we HIGHLY ENCOURAGE you to place proxy bid's via Racing Team Members. In other words as long as the Racing Team members place the bids on your behalf or are present when you vote it is fair game for all our good supporters to join in the reindeer games! First and for most we want to support our Race Teams and Racers! In this case a fellow Racers very close friends who've been supporting his Race Teams efforts for a while. So come join in the fun ya'll! :D
 
We don't have any parts we coupld send but what about non automotive items. For example a snow board would that be acceptable. And could someone pick it up since we are not going to be able to get to TN for the race.
 
I imaginie anything would be great so long as its usable, not junk (i.e., nothing goodwill would throw away...), and would gain interest and $$$ to help out Heather and family!

X2! Tow rig stuff, household stuff, trailer & camper or even camping stuff to name a few areas we all use or need resources in.

So far the donations are incredible! Keep them coming folks. Just remember there is nothing to small for the silent auction. I know for a fact (no names mentioned!) guys have asked me for the simplest stuff before, like cotter pins etc. So they may sell!

If you think someone can use it and your currently not bring it! It doesn't all have to be:bling: high $ items! :smokin:
