Thanks
Tom

Welcome...... WOW thats alot of info requetsed!!lol
Check the up coming events section. URE is not too far away. If you want to meet alot of new friends check out a Big Dixie Bogger event or an event at the Flats in Marion either one would be a drive but well worth it.

Not much help on that area, but I moved out here from Colorado as well. I have really enjoyed it in NC and think you guys will too. No mountains like CO, but tons of stuff to do and some pretty nice places to wheel.

About an hour and a half south, down 17 towards teh SC state line is Carolina Back Woods, a private offroad park. I've heard good things, if you like mud, water and more mud. You can hit the OBX/ Freeman Park, its 4wd only, but not really wheeling. A great time driving on the beach, good fishing if you are into it too.

Also check out Fort Fisher state park. It is a little south of Carolina Beach which is where Freeman park is. A little less crowded than Freeman Park but no camping or fires. Freeman park you can camp and have open fires. I have found the fishing on Fort Fisher a little better too. Otherwise, Uwharrie National forest is the closest for trail riding and decent rocks.

Welcome, Tom! As already mentioned, the Upcoming Events Forum has lots of things listed and there will be more.

Uwharrie National Forest (URE) is closed for the season and will reopen on March 30.

Gulches is near Greenville, SC, and although I haven't been (hoping to do something about that this year, though!) I hear it is a great place to wheel, too.

Miles and miles of some beautifull forest wilderness, and natural lakes at nearby Croatan National forest and some pretty nasty "roads" Get some maps and have plenty of fuel if you go to Croatan. Hoffman State forest also has alot of sand roads and miles of forests.

Wheat Ridge is where I stay when I fly in to Denver and have to head across the pass the next day ! Sadly theres not as much open land here to wheel on , but theres a few good spots as mentioned above.

Welcome to the forum Tom, there's a lot to see and do here.

Spent numerous hours in croatan!!! When I lived down there, out near the Marine federal credit union there was a bunch of mud trails on the right leaving town. Never hit them but heard stories of the jville cops chasing people out of there. Remember wherever you go, set the example. Don't wheel in illegal places! :)

Sent from my microwave using a teleportation device.

welcome to the carolinas tom.
