After emailing all of the email conversations to the office manager on Friday letting her know how much of a hassle this ordeal has been and that I'm not happy with the lack of communication within their office, I get a reply this morning from Agent #2, the Multi-Policy Representative...not from the office manager herself. That says a lot IMO.
"Again I apologize for the confusion but Tammy does not handle the commercial accounts in this office and changed the coverage on your truck in error. Again I am sorry for that. I also contacted Raleigh concerning your vehicle but I contacted the Insurance Commission that handles all of the insurance for NC and they told me the vehicle would have to be placed on a commercial policy with commercial rates. This is also the same thing our commercial underwriter told me when I contacted them about your policy. You must carry the ENOL policy or any trailers you may pull will not have liability coverage if they are not in your name. If they are in your name, then they are just added to your policy for the liability coverage.
Please let me know if you have any further questions."

. They have always appeared quite professional and competent. Certainly this issue you are having is not the first one-ton dually that they (State Farm I think you said you have) have ever insured.....I'd run like hell from that office for fear if something ever did happen they would have your policy fubared when yo did really need it to be there. I look at insurance as there for the big stuff...liability. Not really caring about a few bucks one way or the other but want it right if/when ever needed. Back to your situation, whether they have their shit straight or not I can't say but just their lack of having a clue would cause me to change at least agents if not companies. Just my $0.02. Good luck!
