I was at Harlan this past weekend, making a good run at Little Jagger. Misfit took a good hop, and went tumbling back to the bottom. Ive rolled many times over the years, but for whatever reason, I descided to put my hand out to stop the roll. I never even touched the ground, and immediately jerked back, grabbed the wheel, and braced for the ride. There isnt a good explanation as to why you do things sometimes, but luckily it all turned out ok. No injuries, the buggy was fine, and everyone is alive to tell the story. Lesson learned. :(

Glad to hear all is ok.... we need to have some stickers made like these...

And for anybody that reads this that dosent know Shawn, he is definately NOT a rookie wheeler. Even the veteran wheelers can slip up sometimes.

instincts suck sometimes.... you cant help but to think to catch yourself, you have to think fast to just rely on your equipment

A friend of mine rode dirtbikes since he was 10, at 48yo he was drunk and ridding his side by side on the farm and jumped/hopped/sideways and rolled. He stuck his leg out to try to stop it or instinct and shattered his leg below the knee. They should have amputated it but tryed to put it back together. Infection and multiple surgeries over several years and he still has pain and difficulty w walking, pain and circulation.........he's also addicted to pain meds and a shell of the man he used to be.

Thats why I hate seeing people riding with their arm on the door sill or having grab handles on the outer most part of the cage. Grab handles should be inside the cage. If you get used to having your hands there, its that much easier to instinctively go back.

I clicked on this thinking it was a thread about incest or something. Not sure if i'm relieved or dissappointed.

I can't see the video at work. Is that the one from the bottom or the top? The view from the top looks like a much harder roll than the view from the bottom.

what a frustrating section of trail. glad you still have an arm.

I knew better, but it just popped out there. That will be fresh on my mind from now on. It was a pretty scary thing. Not the roll, but the momentary lapse of good judgement.
