Common sense... not so common...

Bwhaha funny as hell. If she was dumb enough to fall for this she doesn't deserve to get her money back.

I had a friend buy some "white van" speakers back in college. When he tried to hook them up they wouldn't play, so he opened them up and there were taped inside of them and no speakers at all.

But yeah, this chick is an idiot. At least ask to see it first.

I have been approached by the same two guys selling "audio equipment" that their boss "over ordered". Each time I ask them to open the boxes and look at them and each time they don't let me. One time they came into a gas station where I was getting gas and started yelling who wants to buy speakers. I started yelling who wants to be scammed by two crooks. I was working armed security at the time and had my .45 on my hip. One of them ran round the store to see who was yelling started to come at me when he saw my gun. They ran out to the van and peeled out of the parking lot.

It is odd that I recognize them every time and they have no clue that they have seen me before,

I watched a lady at the gas station I worked fall for this exact scam. She bought TWO "laptops" that were just painted wood wrapped in green bubble wrap with a Best Buy invoice on it and some Dell stickers... I guess seeing it packaged like that was enough for her to buy it.. But the scammer and they buyer were stupid cause he was caught 30 mins later b/c he went one parking lot over and she actually openened her new laptops right after he left. She dropped $400 for em! If I were dropping $25 I still want to see if whatever electronic I am buying works!

On another note, did anyone hear that Apple lost their new Iphone 5.. In a bar... Just like last year with the Iphone 4? Looks like their marketing team is still using the same ploy!

About 15 yrs ago when I was living in Raleigh, I had a couple of dudes in a white van approach me in a parking lot about buying some speakers. However much they were asking (can't remember), I told them I didn't have the funds. I think they actually had speakers, but they were probably stolen. That was the vibe I got anyway. If I had bought them, I would have definitley wanted to thoroughly inspect them before laying out the cash.

I actually had a set of the white van speakers in college...they wer actually decent.
I paid like $125 for the pair and got a decent deal on what they were.

A buddy actually paid like $600 for the same pair the same day.

I had a truck and a couple of guys from "High Point Furniture Gallery" come down my dead-end street and try to make some door-to-door sales claiming it's overstock and this is how they offload it cheaply. When I say truck, I mean Kenworth! I doubt either one of them had a CDL. I got behind them when they were pulling out, and it looked like the sketchiest trailer I've ever seen on the road. However, it wasn't two skaters in a Volvo wagon selling speakers. Somebody had put some money into this scam!
