I'm having problems with the speed of youtube on my laptop and its get'n to me.

Fresh format of Windows 7. Inspiron 6000, Pent. M 1.6, ATI x300 video card. 2GB ram

I have my laptop and a macbook pro on the same network. The mac can load the exact same video seamlessly while my laptop just stutters and the video loads slow as crap. The problem is with the laptop but I just can't figure it out. Both using firefox.

Also my speedstep isn't working with windows 7 for some reason. Processor sits at ~800mhz.

Any suggestions?

That's whats aggravating me. Porn just doesn't have the same effect when she's sit'n there stuttering.

Got it. Had to disable Speedstep in BIOS, boot up,shutdown and then reenable it and boot back up.

So how do you like Windows 7 compared to XP?

Im gonna be building a new PC here around August/September and am wondering whether XP or 7 will be the best...

It's ok. I always contemplate goin back to xp when I switch to something new though.

I took my laptop to florida back in Jan. Feb. and now my printer is pissed at my laptop because it didn't get to go, and now it won't talk to my puter!

I just installed Win 7 on my desktop and I must say that compared to XP and Vista this is a much better OS. I'm liking all the new features it has and I have no problem with speed. I built this computer and it's running a core 2 quad cpu with 4gb of mem and a 9800gt vid card with 1gb DDR3 mem so I have plenty of power to spare. I've tried to bog it down with streaming videos running on multiple windows along with all of me Office programs running while listening to music and it only slowed a little bit.

Just explain to the printer that it wasn't because you didn't want it to go, but that you needed it to stay home to keep the other electronics in check. Then give it some good paper and some fresh ink; they should then be on speaking terms again.

Thanks I'll try that, and maybe let it copy some Hotties also!

I'm loving my windows 7 on the new laptop. The only issue at all has been IE. it will frequently bog down and lock up, so I use Google Chrome instead.
I delayed buying a new pc, even though I really needed and upgrade, soley because of Vista. I'm glad I waited.

64bit 7 Pro here. I got the RC when I built this computer just to try it... ended up buying a seat when it came out.

It depends on what you're doing, though. Like the OP... old ass laptop that's just playing porn and looking at NC4x4... stick w/XP for the lower overhead.

How is the 64 bit? From what I understand, at this point the hardware hasnt caught up with the software, and that 64 is kinda useless right now. Any truth to that?

Vice-versa. Software hasn't caught up with the hardware.

But I have some 64-bit apps... have the 64-bit hardware, might as well run the 64-bit OS.

I went with the 64bit because of the amount of mem I can run. Like I said before I am running 4gb right now, but I think this summer I'm going to be upgrading the motherboard so I can run the faster mem and will start running at least 6gb. Plus I'm going to install another vid card and get the SLI up and running.
