After Wednesdays fiasco with Jared, I got another surprise on Thursday, I was dizzy all day. By 330 It was unbearable. I was having numbness in my lips and left hand. Steph took me to the ER. They didn't even let me sit down out front. I went straight back for a CT scan. I had a pretty severe concussion. Thing is neither Steph or I remember me hitting my head.

I had to have surgery to relieve it. No fun at all. I am down for a minimum of 4 weeks.
 
Being concussed can come from a number of things not just blunt force trauma, although it’s the most common cause. Glad it got caught early and they squared you up. Take your recovery time seriously and don’t hesitate to go back to the doc! Been there done that. The noggin is an amazing piece of equipment but it’s fragile and the only one you get!! Best of luck for a rapid recovery.

Mystery solved.

I walked out back and Steph and I were looking at the chickens roosting in the dog pen. While looking at them I remembered I cracked my skull on the gate to the pen while retrieving a dead chicken Friday. (Yup country life is glamorous). Then I remembered that I got sick shortly after that so most likely that was not the cause.

While I was looking at the dog pen, I looked across the yard and saw the FedEx van, with the blown engine, we got a couple of weeks ago and have been putting good tires in. I sold a set of tires on Wednesday. I nearly totaled the van with my head.

It seems that one concussion wasn't enough, I had to go for two. Well, never do anything halfway.
 
Not being a smart azz,but most of the problems on the left side? Hand,arm,lips? Trying to figure out my old man with trauma mostly on his left plus arm missing. Seen him take a 30lbs plate steel to the head when my son dropped it. Didn't bother him a bit. Just trying to figure out what to look for from people not books.

Those are all some symptoms of a concussion, and most of mine where on my left side, if he's having that kind of problem he needs to go to the doctor sooner than later
 
From the interwebs and also what we get taught is this:

“A subdural haematoma may be: Acute - where the blood collects quickly after a head injury; symptoms can occur immediately or within hours. Subacute - where symptoms develop between 3-7 days after the injury. Chronic - the blood collects slowly after a head injury; symptoms can occur 2-3 weeks after the initial injury.”

Multiple head strikes may compound any of the symptoms to be worse sooner but may also cause the issue to wait until even the smallest bump at a later time can cause severe problems including brain injury or even paralysis. Memory loss, numbness, motor control/ balance issues, nausea and vomiting, headaches, irritability, sleep issues. These can all be signs of a M-TBI.
 
Thats what I under stand. Trying to figure out what he mite have different from the "normal" person. Due to fact he has no left arm add in the skin grafts all over. Most symptoms are on the left side so we ask question from those that had these problem.
 
My husband has a scar about that big ,little lower. His is a skin graft Toss up on the ugly part. Tell the kids dont stick your head out the bus window. Tough way to knock some since in. Hope it goes well for you.
