i was wondering if anyone could help me out on my build. im looking for sugestions on what axle to run with 46ltbs. i have been talking to a guy in columbia and he said to run the 1ton out of a late modle f350 and he said he could get me some leaf springs for 600$ that would give me about 13in lift. no blocks all leaf spring. im leaning towards that but this is my first build and i have alot of questions. because right now i have the twin i beam front end and if i go to 1ton im using a straight axle and i need to know what steering to use and also if i have to upgrade the master cylnder when i do the brakes just small stuff like that. im going to put pics of the truck up now how it sits tonight. but i would apreciate help on the build

Well... what are you going to do with it? 46s and 13" of lift is pretty much only good for mud bogs.

Other than that, the Ford stuff all swaps, more or less. D60 front and 10.25 or some other 1t rear is going to mean F350 master and booster. Steering is stock F350 T-link. How thick are these 13" springs going to be? That'll determine whether or not you can physically fit a high-steer setup. You might be able to do a drag link to a high steer arm on the PS and then a tie rod in the conventional location.

yeah this is just going to be my friday night truck. were i live you can run 53s on the road. and i think im going to go to the junk yard and find a older 350 and get everything i need off that becvaue the newer ones havae the ati lock brakes and idk how that would work with my truck because i dont have the computer for that. but your saying all of the stock steering will work with my truck?

Stock steering "might" work. It depends on how that much lift changes the geometry up front. If you were only lifting it 6", you'd be fine. 13" is a long way off.

If you find a good deal on 98+ axles, I probably wouldn't say no. Calipers are calipers. You're not going to bring any of the ABS stuff with you. But I don't think the front spring spacing is quite the same.

Master cylinder and booster are going to be from a 90-ish F250 or F350, regardless.

If it will rarely be street driven full hydro would be best. Axle wise a hp60 and 70 would be best unless you gonna have high horsepower. Then rockwells would be better.

Okay well I'm going to give s call to the junk yard tomorrow and see if they have any f350s in I will let talk know and give you my options and go from there thank y'all for the help

i called them and they have a 90s f350 so im going to go look at it saturday. what al do i need to get off of it?

Actually... that's a good point about the driveshaft. I dunno WTF you're going to do about a front shaft. I didn't have nearly as much lift as you did, and had to go to a high angle 1350CV front. I think the stock shaft uses 1330 Ford single joints. They won't make the angle at ride height. Driveshaft cost me like $700.

yeah idk either but im going with 14in total im getting 10in springs and make 4in loger hanger brackets so the angle wont be as bad
