converting a canadian (metric) yj to american (imperial) ???

Has anyone done a canadian conversion to american? I hate my gauges so i figured id look into doing the swap. Im wondering if i just buy a whole new american dashboard if itll be plug and play. Anyone with experience in doing this please let me know.
 
What year? Does it have a digital odometer? If so, it probably won't be plug and play due to mileage differences. You could probably take it to a Heep dealer and have it replaced so they can put your mileage in the new odometer.
 
the odo shouldnt be digital in a YJ... I have replaced the radio in a friends YJ that is Canadian, and the harness was completely different than the standard color code... His gauges were all imperial though...

I would guess that the dash won't be plug and play.
