Is it possible to convert a Superduty front D60 with the 8x170mm lug pattern to a 8 on 6.5 pattern? If so what all is involve? I was thinkin that it could be easy as taking the outers off one of the earlier model balljoint D60 axles and putting them on the Superduty D60. But the whole "thinking" thing has let me down before, so thats why im askin, cause i have no idea if this is possible.

superduties use unit bearings, older ones do not. Might be able to swap whole knuckle, but I doubt it. You could buy wheel spacers that go from one pattern to the other.

Why would you want to swap them?

Because Ford really gayed it up by changing the pattern by 5mm. That's like making a truck with 7 lug wheels.

whats the deal with the unit bearings, they hold up pretty good, im looking at one to go under a 1/2 ton truck so i figured the ball joint style axle would be sufficent running 37's
