Wanting to get married next October and the lady is already wanting to set a date so she can tell everybody (you know how women are) but I want to put my opinion in and not just leave it up to her. We both want to do a fall theme wedding (I'd like to do a halloween themed wedding)
Anybody know any cool places that would be relatively cheap to rent out in the triad or so? thought about doing a vineyard, but with the weather, I just don't want to chance it. Even if we could get a small lodge type place that has some character to it that we could decorate.

Any ideas?

Not sure on a place but we have a crap ton of center pieces for fall theme if your interested. They are blue ball jars with red and yellow sunflowers.

Sent from a hotel room
in a random po dunk town.

I can't comment on the triad...but the little lady and I decided to incorporate one of our favorite places/things to do. We're planning an early spring (4/4/16) wedding. We love NagsHead...we love the outdoors. We always hike Jockey's Ridge, and on one of the beaches we found sandbars almost in the shape of a T. One goes straight out about 300 yards, and the other crosses. At the cross is where we figure we'll say our vows. I think that's pretty unique...and on your wedding day...it doesn't really matter if it's cool to anyone else. So find something you guys like to do, that's unique to you.

We've been together for 9 years already...buying a house in the next 6 months together. I'm weird with numbers...so 4/4/16 seemed perfect...16 is a perfect square, I like symmetry...maybe a little OCD going on. Besides, our plan is to rent out 2 20person beach houses for the week, because we think it's tacky to have a destination wedding and have people pay their way...so I'm figuring I'll need to save up for that. The rehearsal dinner will also rent out the upstairs of the OBX Brewing station...so I have a little saving to do. Basically one big ass week long party with 40-50 of our closest friends/family, with a ceremony thrown in the middle...and we don't like the idea of anyone else having to pay.

We got married in a bar. The bartender was a friend and ordained minister. We Hung out, he took break and performed the service, then went back to work! The really funny part is my wife is a wedding planner.

How many people are going to be at your wedding?

Childress vineyards??

Castle McCulloch is my first choice but is too expensive....
I was looking at Willow Oaks Plantation in Eden and Graylyn Estate in Winston....
I really love Castles and old things with alot of character.
if you like old with a lot of character, then Zimmerman is worth a look. If nothing else it's worth a Saturday trip with the fiance. a little vino, nice views....

but it can be a little of a hike from hotels for your guests.

Southern Oaks Plantation New Oreans LA. My wife and I just got married there July 20th. Everyone there told us it was the best wedding they had ever been to. This included people who had just gotten married a few months prior and several people that were in their 60s (been to tons of weddings). The owners there are incredible and they make everything incredibly easy. Also you feel like royalty while you are there. Literally they give you servants on the night of your wedding. its AWESOME
