well i just rebuilt my 2.5 yj motor and the only thing i didnt put too much thought into was to get the head pressure checked for cracks (stupid) i did notice that the #4 combustion chamber valves had a little white color to them? well i put new valves in it and then i put the head on the engine and now the oil dip stick has a little bit of milkyness at the end of the dipstick ( only driven it 60 miles)... my thought are either that on the (2.5 4 cylinder 94) is there a water jacket that you have to put silicone or anything around one of the head bolts threads before bolting it down??? so that there could be coolant seeping up the head bolt threads and mixing a little with the engine oil? Or my cylinder head is cracked which i really hope not... any help would really be appreciated.

go have your coolant system pressure tested. that should help you.

" A little bit " like milk shake little bit, or a light swirl ? 60 miles traveld, accumulated in short trips ? or a few 15-20 mile jaunts? something to actually get the engine warmed up ?

I have a few forklifts on my route that don't run more than 3 hrs in 120days, and the oil gets quite cloudy as a result of condensation build up and not being run long enough to burn off the moisture ( bad enough that other techs not familiar with the lifts have called blown head gasket, none have lost a drop of coolant in 2 years )

Run it, get it hot, , change the oil first, run it for an hour, then see what you have, the worst that'll happen is you'll have to tear it down again, which you are looking at anyway.

Replace the PVC valve, clean dipstick and drive it for a week. If its not overheating then good. After a week, pull all the plugs and see if #4 stands out with a different look.

As suggested, do a pressure check on the cooling system too.

Good luck with the problem.
