what kind of cops run a front license plate with the red lightning bolt on it? Seen 2 of them recently, one on an unmarked Crown Vic and another white unmarked Charger.

Haven't seen them around here, but in other states it signifies an "ACE" or Aggressive Criminal Enforcement, and red is usually for stolen vehicle recovery.

Saw a special on the news tonight about the new I77/I40 drug enforcement officers. They were tearing cars up with hydro rams between the trunk and rear seats. Probibly one of those douce bags......

Its a rank thing I believe, I know the cars your talking about. In other states it is an "award" given to those who bring in a certain amount of criminals etc...

Blue Crown Vic, sits at the Citgo all the time and around that whole area. I know about 3 years ago he was a Sergeant, he may be higher ranked by now. He is a Guilford County Sheriff.

Blue Crown Vic with the plate lives in my neighborhood, I have wondered what it meant. Never got around to asking him. Maybe I should.

Just don't break the law and it doesn't matter.....

HMM. You guys are putting too much thought into this. I put whatever I want on the front of mine. I change it up too. Depends on my mood. None of the plates I put on mean anything, except for the cornwell tools one. I use their tools.

I miss NC!

In dadgum MD, we have to have a standard license plate on te hfront, so nobody can "change it up".
Very boring, no designer plates.

Nowhere to put my Appalachian Almuni or "I hate all cops so please pull me over" plate...

The one I think he is talking about is always around Stokesdale-Oakridge area, highpoint is still Guilford so chances are it could be the same guy. Bernhardt (or something like that) is his name.

Not related, saw a new white SUV placarded as "Department of Homeland Security POLICE" the other day.

The really funny part is it's parked in the middle of a row of crackerbox/cookie cutter houses... where the other "residents" drive "Michael Jordan" & "Snickers" DUB cars and ALL have pitbulls staked up at the backdoor!
