Corolla battery is struggling in this cold weather, about 5 years old (Advance gold). Just looked up a replacement, $209!!!!! Chest pains are starting to subside after a bit.

Go to WalMart. The 3 year Gold batteries in group 35 are only $119. Just bought one for my Mazda. It was 90 or so more at AutoZoo and Advance.

I second Walmart. Take it back at 2½ years and get it replaced. They're not going to check it.
this has been my exoerience also.
Seriously...
My 4runner has something shorted so it has a small constant power draw. If I don't crank it about once a week it will kill the battery. If it gors too long the battery doesn't really bounce back.
3 times now I have walked in wit ha 3 month old battery and said, "This one is bad." and hand them the receipt. The local store doesn't have a tester (if they did I doubt they'd bother.). they just send me to get a replacement.
Technically the warranty goes by the original one, BUT if you don't have the receipt they just look at the sticker on it.

Great, thx for the suggestion. I read reviews for everstart and they were not great. They were especially critical of warranty response. But I’ll take experiences from this crowd over the Walmart customer comments anyway. It’s a local car anyway, doesn’t get driven much and always within 25 miles of home. My daughter drives it when she is on break from college otherwise just a spare. I hate to drop more than I have to in a batt.

I had BAD experience with Walmart batteries, a few years ago, & gave them the Finger! But, when my 11 year old Advance battery , in my JD tractor, died, I again shopped. Hard to find something reasonable, & my Brother has been dealing with a "Used Battery Shop". I checked & they are $50, with a 1 Month, warranty. Even though Most of them will last a couple years. I ran across a Walmart ad, & took another look. Just the size I needed, & near exact amperage. Group 22 or 24, I forgot. But it's $60, & 1 year Full replacement. I figured that's better than 1 Month warranty! Battery is listed for most 4 & 6 cly, cars & trucks!
