I need some replacement 33s, a local guy has these BFG MTs at a good deal. He says they are only a few years old, but have been sitting a little while - however they have some good sized cracks on the sidewall. Are these a problem?

see attachments - what do you guys think

I'd run them. Trail only.

Yeah, I'd be leery of those on the street. I've seen worse on street driven vehicles. I definitely wouldn't put em on my wife's vehicle.

Are they on wheels now and aired up or just laying loose? How good is your spare?

Or....... just read the manufacture date, stamped into EVERY time made.. Its the 4 digit number stamped in the sidewall. usually an oval around it.. First 2 digits are the week of the year (0-52) last 2 are year... Looks like the tread cap is separating.

guy says they are aired up and holding (2 of them), a 3rd is not on a rim but he thought that one leaked a little.

Since I do drive this one the road occasionally, and ue it for racing - think I'm gonna pass.

Ah, so dude finally came back (once I explained how to read the code) with "Oh it looks like they are from 04". Making them 6 years old.
Walkin gaway from this one.
