Short story, I drive to Raleigh (about 3 hours) to look at and prepared to buy a Jeep Comanche. I get about 20 minutes away at the ahole calls and says he sold it 2 hours ago. I made it clear how far I was traveling and he told me when he was available.

I get home and the ahole has it listed on eBay. I fully believe karma will come to get him.

Be the winning bidder an not pay. There is no repercussions for not paying on eBay anymore,

Can you Flag the add? If not, lets all get on & run the Price out of site! Then drop out.:fuck-you:

BTW, I read the add; states that It IS a 88 model. The 98 was a misprint. Can't the Add be Corrected?:shaking:

What would you do if something similar happens but with one of our own? a member here?

The sold-it-While-you-were-driving-there thing is BS, but are you sure it's the same guy listing it on eBay, and not the guy who bought it out from under you?

Considering the folks i run with, it would not end well for the seller.
Just saying...

I would have called his ass out, there's no excuse for it.He knew dude was coming. If I know somebody is headed my way,esp from a long distance,Im gonna hold on to it until they get there or tell me their not coming or don't show in a reasonable amount of time.

Not that likely on here had a guy hold a set of axles for me over a month with no deposit before I could make the 5 hr one way trip to get them. And he had people that were close by wanting to give him money then.

I wasnt on the road to get them but was contacted by pm to see if i wanted parts. I went thru the list and picked several items. Thru conversations and texts i agreed to his full asking prices and a delivery charge. i let him know i wasnt in a hurry. 2 weeks go by i text just to see if still on. Again we agree and choose 2 possible days on delivery. Havent heard from him but 2 days ago found the list is on craigslist for sale. And one of the items i had agreed to buy is marked sold and the others are listed with prices. Pissed me off. Havnt contacted him due to holidays n not wanting to be pissed off around family. But definitely not how i deal with people.

Had it happen to me years ago when my dad was still alive. I call the guy and say I'm leaving the house and will be there in 45 minutes. I get to his driveway and he calls...sold just 5 minutes ago :kaioken::kaioken: I was so pissed I just left without going to the house. My dad seemed to think his neighbor didn't realize he was selling it and when he found out he gave him the money right then and that was that.

Had a weird one a couple weeks back. Guy was in columbia, SC...had a 40/20/40 seat. I was going to head down that weekend to pick it up. Guy said he’d be in Charlotte the following week. I said great, from work I’ll be 20 minutes from your hotel, set a day and time to meet, agree to a price. Show up to his hotel, he’s sitting on the tailgate of his truck. I get out, shake his hand, start pulling the money out, ask him where the seat is. Told me he sold it. I ask him dafuq are we meeting for then...said he sees me online all the time and thought I’d still want to grab a beer. Tell him I was only interested in the seat, to which he replies he sold it to a buddy before he drove up because he offered more. No real loss other than about an hour of my time, was more a weird interaction than anything.

Sounds like he wanted more than a beer.

Might have it listed as sold cause you committed to get it.
