Ok so I put some stuff on CL last night and today spammers have wore me out.I got 3-4 e-mails like this one.
Hi,
I came across your AD on craigslist and I'm very interested in purchasing your item. Firstly I want to make sure its the similar type that my son is after. I know it's a bit odd for a mom to be looking in the auto part section but It's his birthday coming up and I want to make it a BIG surprise for him. I'm a single mom and obviously know nothing about car parts (lol). So I'm hoping you can help me out. Heres a video I copied from my son's PC. Can you please take a look and confirm its the same type. VID1 (if not work try VID2). I'm willing to pay more than what youre asking for as long it matches the video description and you can reserve it for me.

I didnt click the Vid link since I suspect it's a spammer and I dont know what it is.So whats the reason for this??? I susupect it's some kinda virus,is their anyway to block a e-mail addy???

don't reply to them. Thats how they get your e-mail to send you a bunch of junk, etc.


What I do is in the body of the Craigslist post, I actually ask them to call me. Spammers never call. Also, I ask if they prefer to use e-mail, to put "XXX" or whatever in the subject line so that I know it is someone that actually read the post, not a spammer.

To this day, I've had like 50 e-mails and not one has followed directions, so I don't reply. there may be 1 or 2 acutal potentials in there, but I'm willing to take that chance to avoid the spammers.
 
Craigslist has really started sucking. I used to list stuff on there and it would be sold within a few days. Now I don't get hardly any emails and most of the ones I do are spam.

And it is the same kind of stuff I was selling before! I don't even get the idiots that send the emails like "you're asking $500 for those wheels, I'll give ya $150 because I might not want them"

x2 ill get an email or two the day i post or maybe the day after but most of the time they won't respond back

agreed - CL is starting to suck.
I'm getting emails from spammers offering me income, jobs, and telling me not to sell stuff on CL because its not 'safe'. wtfever.
Oh and "click here. we got a great place to sell."

In marketing and sales we talk about a the hit ratio. If they do a 1000 of these a day and 1%.... just 1% 'bites' on their ignorant ass bullshit, that is 10 people that they may have duped for anything or dropped viruses on their pc's.... yadda yadda imagine the ID theft or security issues on the PC for those 10 dumb fuckers.

One other thing I've noticed is legitmate spam from Job Boards.
Companies that scrape the list like everyone else, and offer you a job, a 'nigerian' job or a link to apply over here and its actually a link to get on some other job board that looks legit but is nothing but an information scam.

FUCK I'm aggravated. I don't have time to be fuct with.

Sorry I woke up on the wrong side of the bed and been dealing with shit like this for years and suddenly I post like 6 things online, have my GF"s resume on a few job boards and am overloaded with spammers.

I agree that CL sucks these days. Most people on there want something for nothing.

I suspect that less and less people are falling for the scams which means the scammers are working overtime to try to make a living. Hence the huge increase in fraud related e-mails over the past year.

Anyways here is a video link that I copied from my son's computer VID1 (if not work try VID2). Can you please confirm its the same type and reply to me ASAP. Lol yah i resieved the same exact email exact the womans name was sonya people arer idiots.
 
haha mybad i guess i should have made sure i used proper grammar when calling someone else an idiot. I admit extremely idiotic of me, but i still think they are dumb.:bounce2:
