Yep. And the size of the area can be pretty damn big. A super useful thing to do is to download the whole half of the state you live in. I do that about every 6 months.
Downside is when there's been road construction or a new road, it gets all confused b/c the map is then out of sync with where you are and its thinks you're offroad :driver:

But the REAL better reason to do this is that it means that (1) you aren't using an cell data when navigating around and more importantly (2) it means Google isn't sending data tracking your whereabouts back to them.

Yes, I understand this but most people don’t have a devoted gps system they rely on their phone “gps”. My job uses gps coordinates so I fully understand how it works. Actually our newest system uses satellites against CNS (celestial navigation system) to triangulate for +/- 3 feet of accuracy. In the day it tracks solar movement and at night it uses lunar and known stars/constellations. It’s pretty legit but not very applicable to joe dumbass looking for my house to buy my used widget.

I have been cleaning out the basement for months now....always meet @ a local gas station that has an open gravel lot beside it.

Hell, I even sold a truck there...drove it there, let them leave, wifey picked me up.

Only NC4x4 members have actually been to my house for item transactions....I have huge trust issues w/ strangers @ my house.
 
so after a couple of questionable cars came down our long driveway we installed a fence and gate
so no more shotgun targets can come in unannounced. thats right the ol 410 fired over the
roof of a strangers car sends em spinning gravel every time.
