are these people serious????

got this reply to an ad:

Hey There,

I am real interested in the car! Do you still have it? If so, I'm interested in dropping by to have a look, but
I need to know what the insurance would cost me first.

Will you do me a huge favor and go to http://www.LowerInsuranceToday.com and tell me what
the average quote is for our area? I tried to do it, but for some reason I couldn't locate it in their list. It will
only take a minute...Thank you!

Do people really fall for that crap?

Obviously they DO, or these knotheads wouldn't continue...

OTOH, think about this: *IF* 1% of the spammed hit the site and actually followed thru, that's pretty cheap "advertising" for 5 seconds of cut/paste! If 1% followed thru with a Nigerian scam (out of say 1 million people that received the mailing), that's 10,000 idiots X $xxxx = money for nothing...

I usually reply back that if they want a insurance quote on it then buy it and put insurance on it . I only deal in cash and inperson so just buy the damn thing or do not waste my time or I will start billing you 50 dollars an hour for every hour you waste my time

If you reply to them on Craigslist, THEN they have your realy e-mail address, not the one that Craigslist uses to forward to yours. I have also learned not to post phone #'s anymore, as I would get calls 4 months after a vehicle was gone, post deleted, etc from companies wanting to sell my vehicle for me.
