Curious to see who has what in their Jeep, Toyota or custom buggy and how you managed to get it to work. Adapting swapped-in motor electronics to an existing accessory or building completely from scratch.

Mine for example is a Jeep buggy chassis stripped down to bare tub (what's left of it) and pretty much all tube, swapped in LQ4 with Jims Performance harness and so on. I went as far as installing a full heater box w/ large core, fan and duct system. Also have a 12v CIG lighter for constant power, stand alone gauges, headlights and turn signals.

Anyone else gone through the trouble of adding the interior creature comfort stuff and if so, how did you pull it off?

Home made junkyard pieced together air conditioning on my 78 f150 truggy that'll keep you cool even when I'm riding around with the doors off!

Was it a Ford v8 specific compressor and condenser or something different?

V8 grand Cherokee compressor on home made mount I'm running a York for on board air and two alternators one to charge the truck one for a welder. The power steering and charge alt are in the stock location everything else is on custom brackets since I have miles of real estate under the hood. The condenser and dryer are universal parts from a place like vintage air. The evaporator is the rear unit from an expedition mounted behind the passenger seat cut down to just the evaporator expansion valve and blower. The factory heat is in the dash the ac is totally separate. For hoses I bought bulk ac hose and fitting for everything mocked it all up and got them crimped at the local hydraulic shop. I have about $250 in everything.

I used shop vac hose to duct the air around my center console to blow air at my face and on the floor at my feet.

Very cool! Similar to what I'm doing with my heater system. 5/8 in, 3/4 out of my LS, going into a massive heater core I robbed out of a Chevy 3500 church van, custom fit metal 5 sided box made from 1/8 steel hard mounted in my dash. 6" single speed electric fan I robbed off an import car reverse wired and mounted to a detatchable shroud that covers the rear opening of the core box and wired to a toggle. Used 1" diameter flex hose to duct the air through the dash onto the windshield for a defrost and manual valves to cut off when I don't need it. Hope it work, haven't tested it yet.

My last yota truggy I ditched the AC and all of the lines for it, but kept the heater working throughout all stages of the build. It worked decent to keep my hands and feet warm after I killed all the glass and doors. Before that though, it would roast you out of the cab. The heat from the drivetrain would help after I flatbellied it as well. Whatever platform I end up building the next rig out of I am going to insulate the trans tunnel and exhaust side of the floorboard with DEI ReflectAGold because running the main roads around Harlan in the summer time, it just got too hot in the cab even without glass or doors.

In my CJ, I ditched what was left of my AMC cardboard defroster duct and installed a hand mounted squeegee from BedBath&Beyond. No more dew inside my windshield biatches :huggy:

I've been looking for a compact windshield washer fluid container with built in pump that I can mount and plumb to use. Push button to work the pump and directional jets to project the cleaning solution. I've seen these before in junkyards. I guess I'll try it one day
