I'm not sure if this thread is in the right spot so . . . I am fairly new to the 4x4 scene and would like to get some advice on what modifications I should do to make my CUCV truck that much more fun. A little bit of info on the truck, its an '85 Chevy 1 ton CUCV, 6.2 diesel engine w/ 42,000 miles. The truck has a 3 spd automatic trans, 456 gears and came with 235/85/R16 tires. I'm looking to get some 35's to put on it. Everyone I speak to says it will gain a little top end speed, which would help out a lot around town and highway. I know they don't make a lot of power for driving on the road but I'm fine with that and am not looking to improve power on this truck b/c it has enough for what I need at the moment. Thanks for any tips and advice . . .

I would post a pic, but I'm not able to yet

I would love to have a cucv. Good luck I'll stay tuned to this one. 4" tuff county springs and a lil triming and your sporting 35's do the ord flip out back.

I would get some 16.5 rims and get the 36" humvee military surplus tires u can get them at a good deal its what I did with a friend of mines 89 Dodge we lifted it 4" did a lil trimming on the front fenders and they clear no problem and a heck of alot cheaper than buying 4 35" mt's or at's
