Cummins.... How far forward should i place #6 plate?
and WHY !!!!
I am shooting for ~250 hp
..
Specs..
1995 5.9 160hp (stock) p7100
with Head Studs, he351, 4" exhaust, muffler-ish,
stock injectors,
bumped to 14.5 tdc
3K GSK
Just the RV

I waiting on a spring to go in the AFS (sp)
...basically it take your control part of the throttle it bumps it out like 20%
because you/i grind a little bit off the part mechanically slides back/forth
AND the washer you grind it down eliminating ~2mm on the boost measuring thing]
so you get like....
[12345678]
[1234567890].
And it a longer spring and bit softer spring (per vendor).
.
I bench tested it and i can see 0 to tiny bit over 20 lbs of boost. Good ? / Bad ?
so....
How far should i place the #6 plate forward ?
1/2 , 3/4 all the way ?
.
Star Wheel ?
...

It's easy enough to experiment with the plate positioning to dial it in where you want it. As for the afc, I tend to set travel up so that the foot moves 50% at %50 boost pressure. So basically if it travels 1" and makes 40lbs, 20lbs =½" works pretty good for most my junk. You just need an adjustable regulator to simulate boost pressure.

Well i got some new injector and BAM it actual blows smoke (which is good ).
I had it adjusted so it 'should' be blowing smoke, it was not. Which left me scratchy my head....
My original injector were defently not working... it ran, but not really...
.
I ended up getting the DDP +1 (+50 hp)
Perfect, i wanted to be ~250-ish hp
.
verrm verrm
,
All this to say... now it all makes sense
