I just brought a 1974 Dodge Ramcharger. Im swapping 6BT and auto and 35" tires. Im going to turn down the starwheel 2.5 turns and denny T fuel pin and intake and injectors and turn up the pump and screw mod and 24 valve turbo. Do yall think my stock rearend will hold up for alittle while. What kind of mpg will I get? Does anyone want to help me take this swap on when I get ready to do it, would be greatly appreciated. King, NC.

I got really good at tuning the VE pumps after I started throwing aftermarket parts in my K30 swap. You should have no problem getting mileage in the mid 20s. I've pulled off 22 with the truck in my sig.

I'd suggest a Denny T Stage 1 pin instead of the 2. It still has the same fueling up top, but cuts down on low RPM fuel dumping since those pumps fuel best down low anyway. Depending on injectors and pump mods, an HX35 won't be enough (assuming that's what you mean when you say 24V turbo, they were commonly used). You'll probably need an upgraded lift pump and that would come in the form of a "piston" style to replace the stock diaphram lift pump.

Anyway, the key to getting good MPG and power without dumping raw fuel and flooding the turbo is delayed fuel delivery. You'll probably find that with bigger injectors, a fuel pin and some other mods, you'll be tightening up the starwheel. Also, there's a modification you'll need to do to the stock fuel shutoff solenoid to prevent it from tearing the rubber tip off and running it through the rest of the fuel system.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.
