Custom Paint Ideas

So my fathers birthday is coming up in a week, and my sister bought him a pair of drumsticks with his name engraved on them. She shipped them to me so that i can custom paint them and present them to him.

They will be framed and placed by his bar when they are done, so i am probably going to stick with a medieval theme because the rest of the room is filled with a knight and swords/weapons. I was thinking of making them look like swords, but i am not completely sold on the idea.
What do you guys think? I have no problem with complexity or techniques, so I am open to all suggestions.

Also, at the same time i am painting a subwoofer box that i have been meaning to sell for a while. The main reason I am painting it is so I can keep the drumsticks a secret until his birthday. Also, it is just another canvas for me to paint and add to my portfolio.
I will be selling the box with the subwoofer i made it for upon completion, so I need ideas for what the general public might want.
I dont need the paint to add value to the price of the setup, however i dont want it to detract either.
So for the subwoofer, what would the average person in Raleigh, NC be looking for in a custom painted sub box.

Let me know your thoughts.
*I posted this on another forum as well

Dunno seems like a waste of good food to me

Update: I decided to go with a music theme since they are drumsticks lol. I went with my dads two favorite bands. I considered going with his favorite drummers, which are Keith Moon and Neil Peart, so either way The Who would have made the list.

So anyway, here they are:

Pretty simple, but I will say that drumsticks are not an ideal canvas.

So the sub box is next. I'll prob do something generic like true fire or traditional flames, but that's boring. If I went with a local sports team like NC State or the Tarheels, would I be limiting or expanding my potential market? Idk....

So what are your guys' thoughts? Any random ideas? I know paint isn't too exciting for the off road crowd, but its better than me asking about my cookie cutter zj lol

Edit: I noticed the picture kind of sucks. I apologize. It was the best out of the lot. Promise...

Very nice talent, do the box like a strongbox.

What if you do the box like it originaly started out as peices of metal riveted together, but have it as if the box has aged maybe rusted thru in places and maybe some dents or bullet holes, scratches maybe even some spray paint where somebody may have used it as a paint stand.

Thank you. So I had to google "strongbox" and I have to say that is such an awesome idea! It is definitely on the top of my list. Hmm but if i do that ill want to keep it lol, and i need to sell it so i can fund a new rear axle. Ha ill just make sure to take extra pictures so i wont miss it. Great idea! ill paint something i want to keep like that sometime as well. For example, what if you had a cab mounted aftermarket aluminum fuel cell done up like that? You'd have to make boatsides and call your rig "the pirate ship" haha

I love this idea as well! rusted rivets are super easy to reproduce too. I need to find more shit to paint. Thatd look sick on a cornhole set, but that market is saturated enough, and id probably ask
300-400 for it. who wants to pay that much for cornhole... not this guy.
