I have a two part question. I will add a pic to make more sense. The top DS is a front DS from a Cherokee for an SYE style flange. The DS on the bottom is what I got from a guy who said it was from a Cherokee. Clearly this isn't a standard flange for a Cherokee. the bolt holes are 2.5" across center to center. I want to put my SYE in but as you can see on front of the flat flange is not compatible. Basically my question is this. What kind of flange is the DS on the bottom? And is there an adapter to mate it withe the SYE in front of it? Thanks for any advice.

Looks like one from a newer grand cherokee maybe? I think some of the AWD ones had flanges on the tcase. I am a toyota guy so this is kinda a guess.

I was told it is for a 242 and not the 231. So now I have to figure out if I can just change the flange of the 242 for one of the 231 fanges. Any one know? Are the balls set ups on the 242 and 231 the same and just a different flange? I might have to be that guy that finds out.

That flange is for the RE Hack and Tap SYE. You will need a new end for the CV head that is an open style 1310 like the other one you have. Should be less than $60 at any drivehsaft shop....

I don't mind trading if I can get the the one on top to work. I am hoping the ball and spring inside is the same. Then it will be an easy exchange. I will probably mess with it tonight after the wife goes to work. Send me a PM and then I will be able to let you know something.

OK I found out today that the 242 flange I had was interchangeable with a 231. I switched them and it is all good now.Kevin I will switch with you if your interrested still. Let me know.
