cv to u-joint

my buddy has a 95 zj with a dana 30 front.
his has stpid cv style shafts, now im not a zj guy but am an xj guy, can he just swap the u-joint shafts from an xj or a newer model zj? it also has abs .

As far as I know, you can just swap them out. If he wants to keel abs he would need shafts with the tone rings.
