in the middle of doing an soa on my yj, do i set the pinion angle parallel with the ground or how much angle do i give it so my steering wont be all jacked up. i am doing an over the top steering kit but any info would be helpful asap please!!

You need to set the top of the knuckle toward the rear of the truck 5-7 degrees......ignore the pinion angle

You can get them pretty cheap.

$5.99 at harbor freight.

just to get this right, i start with the knuckle staight up and down and then angle the knuckle back 5-7 degrees. i know these are probably simple questions but this is my first soa. thanks

Yes, but don't forget to have the majority of the "loaded" (winch/bumper/etc) on the springs/perches when you start... I cut my last set a bit close and when I had to lengthen the shackles =

You can adjust the angles with a length of pipe/tube over the steering arm... or a floor jack under the pinion.

what i did is put it all together. just put the perches on but not welded, put all the weight down on the front axle and then you can set the knuckle angle correct. then just tack weld the perches, take the springs off and fully weld the perches.

but thats just how i did it

the last one i done i set the pinion angle to the driveshaft angle and still got 3 deg. caster (anymore contributs to death wobble) get a 6" drop pitman arm (4" will work but has bump steer)a steering box brace isnt a bad idea, and cut stock track bar and weld sleve over it to lenghten it ,throw rear away, sway bar mounts on spring plates make good shock mounts when mounted on topand will use stock length shock, cut off old front shock mounts and use them for sway bar mounts with a tractor pin, move rear shock mounts midways up on housing and use zj rear shocks, and point rear pinion at t-case u-joint ... i have pics but dont know how to send them im not very good with these puters!
