Im looking to put a D300 behind an NP435. I am considering running a doubler with this combination. Who has had experience with D300 doublers and what combination seems to work best? I am going to be running a 4Bt cummins in a YJ.

Why not consider a 4 to 1 reduction gear set for the Dana 300.
Save a ton of room, and extra brackets, shifters, etc.

Yeah I have been looking into that some also. Between that and the SUPER low granny in the NP435, I think I can still run pretty tall gears in the rearends to try to give myself some tire speed im going to be lacking.

I'd go with the 4:1 in the 300, only crawl box I know of for the 300 is the 231, and to be honest I don't think it will stand up to the torque you will have. Or, do it right and be completely happy. Put an Atlas 4 speed in it.

They make a 203 doubler also....

What i am really trying to figure out is what adapter to buy for this NP435. If I run a doubler, I dont want to buy an adapter for the D300 and then have to buy an adapter for another box.
Chip, I think you are probably right. Im running an 8lug 44 in the front for now though and dont plan on going over 37s, so I hope that between the granny LOW in the 435 and the D300 I will be low enough. Keep in mind I have a tractor motor driving this pile.
Snappy, Do you know anyone who has run that set up? I know Chip kept breaking the 231 cases. Apparently aluminum cases dont fair well when they try to flex against cast iron.
