I have a GM dana44 front with auto hubs on it. I want to switch to manual locking hubs. What all is needed to do this? Thanks -Mike

hubs

make sure you get the warn premiums, they have a lifetime warranty. Just curious why dont you want auto hubs anymore, i think manuals are a pain in the a$$

Yeah, it's a d44 for sure. Is there not a conversion kit that I will need for that? The axle is from a '77 3/4 ton burb iirc. I wanna go to manuals cause I wanna weld up the spiders and be able to drive it down the road and turn. Thanks for the PN

GMs came with D44s too.

Yeah, I know that. I just looked at his sig and thought he had the original axle under the K5.

To the OP, are you going to put any kind of steering mods on the axle? Welded spiders will wreak havoc on the frame and the like...

Gonna eventually go to crossover but not yet. I'm gonna brace up the frame at the steering box before I get it going too. After all is said and done it might not even be welded, might throw a truetrac in or the like, who knows.
