I put new axle seals in my ford dana44 got it all back together and filled it up with oil and it started leaking I filled it up to the bolt on the cover did I over fill it or what else could be wrong I cleaned the axles and pressure washed the tubes out before I geared it

If you have a hi fill cover it can build pressure and start leaking you could have messed them up when sliding the axle shaft back in

Did it leak after driving it? Plugged breather?

Stock cover I filled it up on the trailer before going wheelin and it was leaking before I even moved it off the trailer seals we're brand new I knocked them out gonna warranty them out any special way to put them or the axles in

Can't remember what size. But I use a large socket as a driver so the lip doesn't get bent up. I also rub some RTV around the outside of the seal. When installing the shaft, be sure there is grease on the seal or the end of the shaft so it slips in easier..

I used a big socket to put them in and I also put grease around the seal where the spring goes around it how much oil goes in it I fill it up till it starts to come out of the bolt hole in the cover

Fill it until it starts coming out the hole in the cover. Make sure to put some RTV around the outside of the seal to help seal it to the axle tube. If there is any rust pitting in the tube it can and will leak out around the OD of the seal. Also take a look at the seal surface on the shaft itself to make sure it is not pitted or grooved.
