D60 help

I put a straightedge across the bearing cup, inserted a tape measure until it bottomed out at the locker. Measured twice with flashlight making sure I was past the splines. 26-3/8. Removed additional 1/16" material so the shaft wasn't riding on the chunk.

This is a Scrambler build, spec'd out 5" longer then wide trac so I can outboard rear shocks.

If I've not mentioned this yet, I've developed a serious hatred for the bearing spacer and retainer plate.

Prolly shoulda mentioned this is a narrowed 60, Torino/set 20 bearings & Explorer disc

Well if the shaft goes all the way through the side gear then that's as much spline engagement as you can get so I'm not sure what your asking.

X2. If you bottomed it out as far as it would go then that's all you get. How thick is the side gear in the grizzly? 3/4" seems thin to me but it's been a few years (thankfully) since I have looked at the innards of a 60.
