What's everyone running? What holds up?

I need to get rid of my 30 spline outers.. Uncle Sam is giving me some of my $$ back so....

So what's new, whats improved, I saw pics of those new warn hubs, they might be the ticket for my setup... as I need some sort of hubs since I do drive this thing around on road.

Mike, as you know I run 39.5 Boggers, and have run 30 splines for about 4 years now. Broke my first one this weekend at DPG. Took out the hub too.
From what I have seen, the Warn premiums are not the ticket. I have seen a bunch of them fail. NOt sure what new one you are talking about though.

ok im sorta not giving you guys all the info.. I do have a spare set of 35spline axles i got some time ago, and i have a pair of new slugs from some pBb vendor, but i really like the newer slugs that you can bolt just the cover on for street use.. That would suffice for my needs...

But id still like to replace the joint with something better if i knock the 30spline stuff off..

so everyone runs stock(forged) joints? (yes i know my little 38s arn't really putting a hurting in my axles)

Stock spicers and slugs. I would rather run longfields and an ARB but until my money tree starts growing I don't have a choice. I wouldn't run longfields for any road use either. Of course I could still run a front 30 with the way I keep wheeling jackstands.

so the big question.... what broke first and what was collateral damage?

I run stock spicer 805x (I think that's the part# ) joints, 4340 shafts, 35 spline outters, and drive flanges and I have broken the front R&P before any of that stuff broke. I also have broken a joint (which didn't damage either shaft) only once since going to the 4340 stuff. I used to run Warn premium 35spline lockouts, but always carried a spare set cause I needed to. They are a nice "fuse" if you have spares and someone willing to warrenty them time and time again.

Greg, what kind of shafts do you run? I got the Yukons for mine, just wondering how they hold up. Either way, I don't see ever breaking one of them... Also running drive flanges, going to make myself some plates to bolt the covers on so I can drive w/o the front axle turning on the road (if need be).

I run 35 spline inners and outers an ARB and 1480 u joints spicer #5-806X. thats the number BW was thinking of too.

I used to run warn prememium hubs but I also got sick of replacing and warrantying them out. the last set that failed I swapped them for warn flanges.

I have lost 2 outers and an inner and a couple joints in the front. now I try to wheel a little more gently and keep everything alive. I fully intend to upgrade to the longfields when my ship comes in.

Stock inner shafts/ 35 spline Superior 4340 outers/ #5-806X U-joints/ Warn premium 35 spline lockouts.

I haven't wheeled enough to comment on the durability of this setup. The Warn 35 spline lockouts are kind of weak looking in my opinion. JT is running the TERA 35 spline lockouts (made by Mile Marker I believe) and has not had any trouble with them. I bought another set of those and split them with JT so we would each have a spare. They look stronger, but I have no experience to back that up other than watching him flog his junk.
