Anyone in the Raleigh area that has done this before?

Any good recommendations on who to take it to for the machining (also Raleigh area).

I had Boyette's do a number of projects for me when I was in the area, initially at the recommendation of others on this board, way back when. I would start with them. Fast, honest, reasonably priced.

What axle is it? Gm or Ford? If you have drw you may be able to find someone who will trade with you. I ended up buying a new set of srw hubs for my gm 60. After seeing how much work and time goes into the machining, plus new wheel studs, reinforcing the flange to be strong enough for the task is what deterred me from machining my drw hubs.

I had a set of 1980+ 2wd DRW front hubs turned down to fit pre '79 rotors / setup last year and the dude was spot on. He surfaced the wheel mounting face to accomplish this. But he measured and then turned it in like 30-40 minutes while I waited.

But then I called him yesterday to turn some rotors and he pointed me to a brake shop cause his rates went up. Measured last night and rotors were too thin to turn anyways...

Most folk are wanting to trade DRW for SRW (same as you) so the odds of finding someone to trade is slim.

I've noticed small time machine shops setting up everywhere now (google - "machine shop" / "zip code"). The need from all the Industry coming to RTP makes for a large void in machining and welders in this area.

T-Hoff is good but they are a week+ behind on everything they do.

Thanks for recommendations thus far. It is a GM axle. The prices of the hubs has gone up astronomically since I originally acquired the axle and I now wish I still had the original SRW hubs I once traded for the DRWs I have now.

XJsavage: When did you buy your srw hubs? Where do you decide to purchase from?

Does anyone have any measurements I can make use of from when they had their set milled?

About 2 years ago from WFO concepts. I bought the complete gig, rotors, studs, bearings, and hubs.
I thought I'd ask which 60 it was. If Ford, you can use d50 hubs and those can be had for cheap. A friend runs them with great success.

I have 2 already done. Make an offer.
