My brother asked me to help him lift his 03 4x4 crew cab 4.7 dakota. Last year for Christmas I bought him an add-a-leaf kit and I was EXTREMELY disappointed. After the add-a-leaf, the back of the truck was only 3/4" higher, and the instructions said it would be 2". I also maxed out his torsion bars which raised the front about 1" at best. Ive been reading everywhere about how maxing out the front torsion bar keys will raise the front 2", but it doesnt.
My brother asked me to help him get some more lift out of his truck agian this year for Christmas. He wants it 2 1/2-3" higher than stock. I would love to find rear lift shackles for it, but after much research it seems that lift shackles arent available for the 4x4. Does anyone know of a 2 or 3 piece add a leaf kit available for his truck? Also, how much more lift should I be able to get out of the front with aftermarket keys?
Ive got a frontier and I reindexed the torsion bars to get 3" total lift, but my t bars have splines, and arent hex shaped like the dodge. Will re-indexing the torsion bars one position with the stock keys turn the factory bars too far?
Also, where can I get the tool for releasing the tension on the torsion bars?

my friend used chevy lowering shackles to lift the rear a good 2 or 3 inches on his durango, he has about 2 or 3inches of tbar crank and isnt maxed out. he got new keys though. i would look into both of those if i were you

I used the chevy lowering shackles on my durango, and was able to level the front back out using just the factory torsion keys. That and a 3" body lift gave me plenty of room for 33's and had no trouble clearing 34x10.50's, some minor trimming on the front bumper would have cleared 35's with no issues (they would scrub offroad but never hit on pavement)

yes his durango was 4x4. he has a 33 inch tire(285) on stock rims. and just had to shave some plastic then when he switched rims he had to trim some more. but the shackles are your best bet for the back. i think they run about $40 maybe? as well as keys for the front
