At what point does it become legal to strangle a child.
I was sitting here, enjoying a wonderful cop of coffee, when I got a text message, from Jared.

He said the truck jumped out of gear during the night and hit a tree. I have my doubts. We have had Christine for 10 years, and it has never jumped out of gear.

Steph and Heath were going to Rutherfordton (close to where Jared is staying) for a homeschool day at a kids discovery place, so she said she would tow it home with the towbar.

She left and I sat here and did some hard thinking about the truck. He either did something and is not telling me the truth about it, or he didn't pay attention to what he was doing and left it in neutral. Either way he will not be getting it back. He had got to learn to pay attention. Maybe not having a vehicle will help him out with that. That little truck has been through so much and has been so dependable, I don't need him destroying it.

He won't be happy to find out it is strike three.

She sent me a text after she picked it up and said it is worse than it is in the epics.

Tree, chain, pull the core support out enough for everything to clear and let him run it like it is.

So...he's trying to pass that off as being done by the weight of the truck rolling in to a tree? He's as full of shit as a Christmas turkey.

He hit someone or something and straight lied about it.

A steel bumper S10 would have probably just bounced off. I doubt it would have even bent unless he was parked at the top of a mountain and it rolled ALL the way down to the bottom and smacked something.

Well, she was right. It is worse.

Radiator is crammed back into the fan, hood is FUBAR, bumper is bent worse than it looked, passengers side is caved in on the door and bed. And that was just a quick look.

Did the tow bar have to be re-adjusted, to fit, or bolt right on. That would say a lot.
Possible he left it in 3 /4 gear, instead of 1st.?
Sometimes [many times], that'e the only way teenagers Learn. I wrecked my first car. And did some heavy body damage, in a ditch, to my second car. Dad didn't know about the 2nd. car damage [I think] !

I had a friend with a early 90s chevy 4x4 5 speed that "popped out of gear" one night while we were "coon hunting" and hit a tree like that. In other words, we were a bunch of drunk teens camping out at the hunt club. His truck had the worst chevy door of any chevy door Ive ever seen. Long story short, he kicks it sideways, door flies open, he flies out, truck hits tree. It was absolutely hillarious at the time since I wasnt in the truck. His parents were out of town at the time so we got the front clip off and to the scrap yard before they got home so they couldnt see how hard the truck hit the tree.
@palmetto zuk do you remember Guy's red truck?
