Damn cursor doesn't work anymore...

OK, I'm not computer guru, so anyone who is feel free to chime in and help me out.

Last night on my laptop, the cursor quit working. Now the mouse pad and buttons don't work on the laptop anymore. Everything was working just fine, then the computer had a couple "spells" for a couple of minutes. I turned it off and back on and since the last "spell" the cursor and moust pad/buttons don't work anymore.

manually scrolling through the pages and such searching for solutions totally sucks.

Any ideas how to fix it? Ask questions and I'll answer as best as I can.

The "spells" were where IE locked up and closed all the open windows and tabs. It happened twice. It started happening when a friend sent me some video clips (ahem, adult... :( ) and when I clicked on them is when I had all the problems. I'm guessing I some sort of virus, etc., but can't really scroll through checking as I'm having problems selecting the right buttons, etc. without the mouse... :(

Damn dude take it to school/work and bum one.

May just need to reset the drivers on your built-in trackpad
 
I bet you picked up a virus that disabled your touchpad...grab a usb mouse as suggested for $10 and go to control panle and touch pad and see if it is disabled.

Had a similar viruss get on work pcs a while bak, apparently it kills the touch pad to slo you down in stopping it
