Dan Wheldon die in crash?

I might have this wrong but I think Dan Wheldon, a Indy car driver just died in a Las Vegas race accident.
 
RIP Dan it was a crazy wreck for sure.
 
My TV was on ABC when I turned it on at 4pm to watch football, they were showing replays of it, it was not a good scene. The announcers were not talking at all, just replays, and live footage showing the cleanup, and watching everyone in the pits fearing the worst. I kept switching back during football commercials, they finally made the announcement about 6pm I guess. Very sad, they cancelled the race, drivers did a 5 lap procession in honor of Dan Wheldon and packed it up for the season.

I dont know how many of you follow offroad racing, but Rick and James Huseman both died in a plane crash today. Rick was a Baja Champion. Bad day in motor sports.
 
That was an unreal crash. When it happened, I told my wife I wouldn't be surprised if someone died. Thats probably the worst crash I have ever seen in Indy or any other racing for that matter.

Holy crap! That is a terrible loss.

And in a weird way it's more sad b/c it didn't happen at an event (trust me, I'm glad for that!) so word won't get around as fast.
