So i found that my spider gears were broke and i do no know how to get them out. Im assuming im going to have to pull the carrier. And im not positive how to get the gears out from there. I know the roll pin comes out with a punch. But how do i reinstall the pin? And is there anything i need to pay attention to where the ring gear sets or spiders? And what are the torque specs for the ring, carrier bolts, and all the goods?

Please help, i am trying to get my jeep up and going.

Pull the axle shafts, then pull the carrier. Some cross-shafts are held with a roll pin and some with a bolt. If it is a roll pin, just use a punch. Put it back in the same way you got it out. Mark the ring gear so that it goes back on the carrier in the same orientation.

Make sure if there are washers behind your spider gears or side gears that you get them back in. They are thin and usually stick to the old ones, so they are easy to forget.

Use Google to find your torque specs. Dana axle manuals are out there on the web. Make sure you get your carrier bearing caps back on the same side and same orientation.
There are probably videos on youtube to show you how to do all this.

Also, after you drive it a few times, it is a good idea to pull the diff cover back off and check the torque on everything. I actually had a ring gear bolt work its way all the way out once. I'm glad I pulled the diff cover and found it.
