Dana 300

I have a 1972 Scout II and Im looking for a Dana 300 for it. Does anyone know if a 300 from an 86 CJ will match up or what years would work for mine. It will be matched up to a TF727 and a Dana 44 rear.

The bolt patterns are different.

The Jeep 300 uses a round six-bolt pattern. The Scout 300 uses a four-bolt "Texas" pattern that is essentially the same pattern as the five-bolt Dana 20, making it an excellent swap candidate for early-CJ owners seeking a lower gear ratio."

Good luck finding a Scout D300. If you do find one, they're usually $400+.

if you are using a AMC 727 tranny then yes a cj dana 300 will bolt right up with no mods.
