dana 44 front axle gears

i am getting a dana 44 out of an 84 jeep j10. im going to run a 5.38 gear. the gear that is in it now is a 3.31. will i be able to run the 5.38?

you will need a diffrent carrier . you need one from a 3.9? -up . thats the split.

na just carrier is diffrent. thicker or thinner for correct spacing of the ring gear to center of were it needs to be. thats all.

actually you dont need a carrier......you just need a thick gear

i didnt think thay did std rotation for dana in thick.

TJ "Rubicon" gears are thick gears for the Dana 44. I think they can be had in 5.38's.
